Isn't the difference in sound actually less INTAKE growl?  On Honda's with
VTEC variable valve timing there is a noticeable difference in the intake
sound when the high lift cam lobes come into play.  When you open up a Civic
Si it's really noticeable, and an S2000, well, change your shorts.
