Well today was a very Spritely day for me and a friend who recently
bought a 66 Sprite.
We started off at 8am in my Bugeye to try and find out why a clutch did
not work on another Bugeye owners Sprite. (the original owner who bought
it new in 1960)
After a 2 hour drive, we arrived on time and spent an hour "messing"
with the adjustment of the master cylinder rod and bingo! it works as
good as new.
I also changed out the plugs and eliminated his miss, His bugeye not
only moves again but it moves well. This took an hour. Coffee and a chat
and we left for Sprite adventure #2.
We drove down to check out a 58 Bugeye. What a mess! What he wanted and
what we offered were both insulting. So we drove away remarking about
what some people think they have. (he had an oil/temp gauge that needed
a new Bugeye!)
So circling the State of NJ we decided to stop and see a friend who has
4 Spridgets, a Morris Minor, and his recent addition, a Hillman Husky.
Spent some time discussing mods for the Hillman and his pride, PIECES
II.
PIECES II is a RB Midget with a bugeye nose and Bugeye tail grafted on.
It is unique to say the least. And the body man did an outstanding job,
it looks perfect.
On the road towards home we drove thru a thunder storm, top down of
course and got a bit wet but all in all it was a very Spritely day.
2 tanks of gas and about 300 miles with no problems.
What a day.
