Charles,
     Maybe it's chomping at the bit to go for a drive.....     I've seen the 
phenomena before. Most likely a sympathetic vibration induced thru  the 
instrument panel. Try loosening   the knurled nuts holding the speedo in 
place and resnug them a bit tighter/looser and the problem will go away....
