Although I haven't bothered to do so, not considering it a problem, it is 
possible to have parts of the brake caliper, including I think the pistons, 
coated with a thermal barrier.  The thermal barrier prevents heat absorption 
by the caliper, pistons and fluid thus prevent brake fade due to overheated 
fluid.  I would guess that more heat might be retained in the pads & disc - I 
will ask the manufacturers at the Autosports tech show in January.
