Jim:
In 1971 I bought a used 1967 Sprite which was fitted with thin white wall
tires. I assume these were original.
I now own a 1968 MkIV. It has black walls on original steel wheels with
chrome trim rings. However, I have an original sales brochure for the MkIV
Sprite and every photo in it shows thin white walls. The printed specs in
the brochure indicate Dunlop 5.20 x 13 four-ply tubeless tires, but doesn't
mention white walls.
