Woo hoo! Pulled the plugs and #3 was all fouled up (black). Don't know
what happened, but now it runs like a bat out of hell, or at least I drive
that way. I'm amazed at the power that little guy has. The Haynes manual
said that the condition of my plug could easily be attributed to the engine
breaking-in process, and will go away. Anyway, I went on about a ten mile
hard drive and no problems.

Subject: Strange running...
My 'freebie' '75 is reasonably driveable now. But it's running a bit odd.
On acceleration, it runs really rough. Sounds horrible, but seems to have
okay power. Then, when I get up to speed, say, on the interstate, it runs
perfectly smooth and keeps up with traffic. My first thought was fouled
spark plugs again, but it isn't getting any worse. Secondly, that it was
mixture-related (Weber DGV). But it seems fine at highway speeds. Any
ideas? Thanks!
