Rick,

Having the latest e/q does not mean that it works on wire wheels. Only in a
dire emergency would we let anyone change a tire on our wire wheels with a
power tire changer. Have seen a few too many wire wheels bent that way. It
is a pain in the b**t but we look for someone that can still do them by hand
and then watch them very carefully. Recently we have been able to keep our
rims straight until we need tires. Then we buy the tires haul them to the
fellow that tunes and trues the wheels and have him do the mounting and
balanceing.

Wish we had a way to check all of the rims that are out in the garage for
trueness but alas do not. Still I would think that .050" would be noticeable
but have no data to support that feeling. Can you check your other rims?

Would suggest looking for someone in your area that trues wire wheels and
have them checked out.

Almost 40 years with the love and sometimes misery of wire wheels.
