I'm not 100% positive, but if I'm not mistaken, they were not painted at
all. If they were, I believe they were black. The top and front covers are
aluminum and don't remember seeing those painted either. Personally, I
paint mine using Gray Hammerite. It has a rust inhibiting properties and
approximates the color of new cast iron. You could also use a cast coat
engine enamel that is cast iron colored. Gray or silver powdercoating looks
good too.

If you are doing a concourse restoration, you should get a hold of the
concouse standards guide for the Sprite.
