Hate to throw politics into a perfectly good list, but when F$&*\g know it
all social re-engineers, and their lackey social-mechanic sidekicks are
voted in and allowed to take over the helm, they hire their
inbred-at-the-shallow-end-of-the-genepool second cousins to run the
bureaucracy. Almost makes me want to stop and hear what the toothless moron
at the table outside the DMV has to say about voting for Lyndon LaRouche....
almost..... Believe it or not, I have been known to vote for Demorats, and
Republicans, Independents, and even once for a Socialist, simply because he
was less of an anti-American Commie Pinko mind controller than the POS he was
running against.....
In the meantime, take a moment to write, call and visit your reps and
tell them exactly how you feel about the way you have been treated, and that
you are not only going to campaign for the first rational person who pops up,
but that you will be a tireless campaigner against them, personally. VA DMV
has become a mecca of rationality of late. Same thing goes for the safety
inspection process. Save a few zealots who would be the same in any
profession, inspections are, by and large, fair, straightforward, and take
exceptions into consideration without having to call Richmond.... This is
partially because the car club lobby (Terry Bond of Chesapeake AACA) has
taken the time and effort to influence some key reps and senators that the
voice of the car-hobbyist is nearly as loud as that of the NRA. And anyone
who watches the nightly news can see that VA is likely the gun-selling
capitol of the US.
Several regions in VA have formed car club councils which are comprised of
reps from each club, the SCCA, and others. When there is a concern, it gets
addressed, and presented fairly quickly.
Best idea of all though is simply vote as a block against anyone
who goes against the grain of sane and rational control, and tell them
exactly what you plan on doing and why. Mark Childers
