Actually, when my dad had his Midget he would sit my brother and two of
my sisters on the back "shelf" (they were 7,6, and 4) with my mother (of
rather large proportions) riding shotgun. He said they got the
occasional stare. It would seem that they weren't too concerned with
seatbelts back then.
