Oh, heavy heart...sigh...choke (as in lois Lane)..
The Midget went for it's safety - and failed. Miserably. RF kingpin,
control arm bushings, leaky exhaust, trunk floor corrosion (didn't look
THAT bad)..and on and on...
Main problem, the damn thing is so rusty, that any further repairs don't
justify the costs...
So, now what...well, I'm searchin' for a shell...somewhere out there is a
relatively rust free (at least more rust free than what I've got) '77-esque
Midget with no interior, engine, top, glass, that needs new rear spings,
shocks all round......anyone? I'm willing to play fetch if I can find
something in the north eastern US/eastern Canada?
Biggest bummer - the look on my 17 year old's face when I broke the
news...I had hoped to have the car ready for his last few weeks of high
school......sigh....
And, just to make matters worse, my dear friends at Caribou Canvas sent me
a letter advising of my refund...well, partial refund. It was so
considerate of 'em to send along the page that outlines how they don't
refund shipping costs, *after* the fact, so I'm out some 45 bucks
Canadian..but hey, it's caveat emptor, right? And after all, he did have a
cold....
And this is a hobby, right?
Think I'll go drive one of the Bs.....
