I spoke to Paul A. today and ordered my 5-speed kit. The turbo bugeye will
soon become a freeway terror. I've found a decent pick and pull tranny with
160k on it for about $80.
The post Chico show conversion session at "Swift Justice"s home will be a
great opportunity just before I begin the job. I'm hoping to keep my
downtime to two weeks. One day would be better, but I figure the parts
shipped to Paul, modified, and shipped back will take at least a week or
two.
I'm looking forward to a first gear that doesn't whine and the ability to
cruise the freeway at something under 5k rpm.
Thanks to the list for the postings that helped me decide which kit (Bryan
V.), the instructions on the speedy removal of a 210 tranny(Crash), info on
what is needed (Paul A.), the chance to see it done before I begin(Steve
M.), and the knowledge that it is definitely the right thing to do(too many
listers to name).
