Nice story, reminds me of when I first got the Sprite running, I stopped
for gas in a real SMALL town on the way to a party. The lady working was
having to watch her kids while she worked. Her young daughter (maybe
5-6) commented on the car and so I offered her a ride. Mom didn't have a
problem with it and the little girl was enthralled with the top down
experience. At a car show 2 weeks ago I heard most of the kids saying
things like, I could drive that car, so I started opening the door,
inviting them to sit in the seat and then asking them to push the gas
petal <G>. The parents got a kick out of it and the kids loved sitting
in the car. Point being, lets catch them young and teach them about the
individuality and appeal of the older cars (of any country) because they
are the ones inheriting our legacy of keeping these cars alive and well.
Ron, with a responsibility like this, your wife certainly can't begrudge
you loading all those bre........ um ..... er...... girls in your car in
the spirit of helping them acknowledge their birthright of, "Keeping
them alive!"
