Folks,
Regarding Armstrong lever shox. Armstrong was kind enough to stamp their
part number into their shox. On rears the number is stamped on the
underside of a mounting ear for all applications.
Earliest Bugeye with 1/4 elliptic spring to ch#4332 has part number 7335
(R or L)
Later Bugeye and all Spridget w/ 1/4 elliptic spring number is 7401 (R or L)
All Spridget with semi or 1/2 elliptic spring number is 8681 (R or L)
7335 and 7401 have fill plugs angled in the cap or lid
7335 has a slightly longer arm (thanks Dan T)
8681 has the fill plug in the casting of the body.
        7401 and 8681 can interchange function-wise.
On fronts, the number is cast into the body near the lid 5925 and 5925/1
(R or L)
(Fronts for other makes have the number stamped on the underside of the body)
Hope that's clear and helpful. (I'm recovering from last night's game.)
