The Palo Alto show is like that. This year one of their awards went to what
was probably the rattiest car in the show. I don't remember for sure but
think it was a TR4. The story was that the guy that owned it had purchased
and restored to perfection, 3 other TR4's. Each one had either been wrecked
or stolen. So he bought this one 25 years ago and did nothing to it but keep
it running.
The Monterey British show gives awards of this nature. Rick Walters (from
this list) got one for "Most Obsessive Theme" for his display of a multitude
of frogs with his Bugeye.
I've always taken my cars to shows no matter what shape the cars were in. I
pay the fee just to get a good place to park. I like to look at other
people's cars to see what improvements they have made and maybe steal their
good ideas. I have never cared what people say about my cars, they are mine
and I do what I want with them.
Now that I've said that, too hell with all of you, I'll take my two trophies
and go home :-):-)

It's more fun to chase a cat than to catch one.
