Ahhh gee glad somebdy misses me ;-)

The last few weeks I have been very busy plotting and planning to move
our LAN behind a firewall. The LAN consists of mostly Macs, a few Windoze
machines and several Sun, DEC and Linux boxes. Also at the same time
switching from coax to twisted pair ethernet. Happy to say the big move
was on Friday - had expected to spend at least 2 days doing the switch -
got it all done in one!!! Rewarded myself with golf on Sat - love driving
the Midget to the golf course. Of course I can't take a passenger cuz my
clubs fill the seat. Was great weather tho!!

Today (Sunday) I am driving in the MG vs Tr Rallye. Got me a new
navigator and we plan to win the coveted Lucas Cup!! Unfortunately the
weather is a little overcast this AM so we will have to bundle up a
little. Glad my heater works, and hope it doesn't rain or I will have to
just drive faster!

As most know I smacked the Midget using the cell a while back. Well it
goes in for prelim wing straightening in the next coupla weeks. Got a
buddy that has worked on MGs for over 30 years and is good with body
stuff. Also the clutch is messed up. Found out part of the problem is the
shaft and clevis pin in the master cylinder. (Ordered new stuff from Ed)
Well been driving it that way for a while and now the synchros are gone
too. Got a tranny i bought off a lister last fall and am gonna swap it in
at the same time as straightening the wings (Was gonna rebuild the tranny
first - but no $$$). Should be able to get it back on the road in a day
or two. Still trying to find a bonnet locally. Had two offers for one,
from NC and Canada, don't wanna pay the shipping tho. But may end up with
one of them, if I can't get a local one (Road Trip maybe).

In the mean time a buddy from the MG list loaned me a 76 B to drive. Had
to help him get it running after a Z-S to twin SU swap, but that was
cool. Then this week the plastic fan broke. It was like shattered in the
middle where it bolts to the pulley. He ordered one and it should be here
on Tues. I do not like this car - it is a tank!!! After 20 plus years in
a Midget a B is way too big, and handles like crap. (Can't wait to see
the responses from the MG list on that, but I will tell them later - LOL)
Hey but don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

BTW my 15 yo went to Italy in June on a sorta school chorus trip, she had
a blast, didn't get to drive tho ;-) She turned 16 on Wed and is in
driver training class. Been letting her drive the Midget a little - gotta
start 'em out right!

Fianlly got the Artero licensed and it is way cool to drive. Best on the
interstate!!

Oh well see what happens when somebody says they haven't heard from me in
a while!!

Stay cool folks and I'll let all know how the Rallye went later.
