remove the front bumper and brackets first. remove the rear bolt holding
on the hood latch strikers to the frame rails on each side. unbolt the 8
hood hinge bolts. remove the lighting harness from the retaining tabs and
carefully route it along the route that the water temp gauge capilary tube
runs. on my car when it was a tilt front end i cut the harness and used a
radio shack chassis connector so i could just unplug my harness and grab the
latch handle and twist it and remove the entitre front end whennn ever i
chose to. you might not want to cut your harness but if i remember right
you might need to extend it(make a jumper section of harness) to acomodate
the tilt forward(not long enough). oh yeah also remove the safety catch
too, does nothing in this configuration as do the 2 supports. remember to
bag all of the items you remove! and label evrything too! you never know
when you might choose to put it back..........like i did?
as far as latches? to hold down the back bottoms of the fenders? rubber
"t" handles, race car stainless steel panel retention spring set ups, a
liberated set of spitfire latches, or old fashioned hood pins bolted to the
original hinges and protruding through the hood. the sky's the limit. just
try to imagine how hard it will be to undo what you are doing before you
start cutting! ( i really stuck it to myself as a kid with my car)
chuck.
see evryone at summit point next weekend!
