A little further research shows this is Definitely a Midget 1500 engine. FP
is MG MIDGET, 60180 is the serial number, UCE is CALIFORNIA EMMISIONS
EQUIPPED. Basically exactly the same as the Spitfire engine. I believe
that the distributor and the fuel pump are different however. It is a
triumph made engine for the MG Midget.
Hope this helps,
Bill

Well, it's not a Spitfire Engine. Originally. It is definitely Triumph.
Spit 1500 Engines (1493cc) all started with a FM designation.
The "UCE" suffix means it was a California engine with all the wonderful
Smog junk!
Let's see, I'll check my triumph info, hang on......
... couldn't find anything with an "FP" sure about the "P"?
If so, I'll keep looking.

Can anyone ID this engine:
FP60180UCE
I think it may be a '76 Triumph Spitfire 1500 engine.
I can find the info to figure out the A series engines from their S/N, but
not the Tri*mph/Midget 1500 engine.
Thanks
Christian
