and I thought you Yanks invented jargon, abbreviations and rhyming slang
are one of the pastimes associated with the English lanuage.
Dizzy = short for distributor, and it spins around.
Carby = short for carburetter
Crank = short for crankshaft
Dave = short for pain in the butt
