THe sport's coil has an internal ballast. What I need to know is how to
determine if my car has a ballast on the ignition line, or in the coil.
I'm just not sure what the PO has done already. Not sure I really want to
know, as well..... <grin>

Isn't this backwards? It's my understanding that the ballast resistor's
purpose in life is to PREVENT a coil with no internal resistor from burning
out prematurely.
