First. Thanks to all who replied. Easy on Frank guys. He's been
there and done that one too many times. Frank's right about the
'speckled carpet' my '62 has red with black speckles(original)
carpet on the bulkhead area.
Didn't know what the bugeyes had in the bulkhead area, now I do.
My car had one piece of Hardura left inside the rear. Used it as
a pattern to make some new ones from hardboard (Crash thats why I
didn't carry it around in the back I spent the better part of a
week on my belly/back scraping, priming, painting). The PO just
put the top frame on the floor behind the seats and because of
that the seat covers now have two matching holes where the
springlocks ears gouged them!
Ended up mounting the brackets on top of the carpet as three
pieces come together at that spot and the main piece(the bulkhead
piece) has just a flap extending to the sidewall just about the
same size as the bracket. Not enough to cover it and make a hole
in it. Not trying to be concours, just appropiate.
Thanks,
