Just remember you must abide by the terms of the policy. By that
I mean if your policy states that you can only drive to shows and
your mechanic you could have a problem if you use the car one day
and drive to work and lets say (god forbid) you kill a doctor or a
lawyer in their thirties with a couple of kids. The insurance
company will not pay in this case since you were not using the
car as stated in the policy. And believe me if the claim is going
to be big they will send out an investigator. Also if you
primary insurance does not pay, a secondary insurance such as
an umbrella policy will not pay either. This might not matter
for a small claim but if it is a big claim you could wind up
losing everything. Insurance is like lawyers, you only really
need them when things go really wrong. Of course you should
check with your agent, get what they say in writing, and consider
that the final word. Disclaimer I am not a lawyer, insurance
agent, private investigate, and I don't play any of the above on
TV.
