Welcome to the Spridgets list Bill. 1st off your wife is right, the Sprite is MUCH better looking then a Spit, is quicker, and it handles better too. :) (I had a Spit) Your VIN should not have a "U" in it, the U did not start untill 1969 or 70. And yes you have a very early MKII Sprite, George Marinos and Biff Jones, both regulars on this list have MKII Sprites in original condition.
