Whether or not the dynamo will cope will depend in part on the engine revs
being used (dyno doesn't charge at idle like an alternator even when the light
is out, I think).

Also if the regulator is not properly adjusted (you can delibrately over
adjust it) the dyno's 'juice' will not all go to the battery.
