You're correct, the BMC Austin-Healey Sprite Service Parts List (AKD829)
doesn't list the year that the colour was introduced, however, it does
identify the chassis number where the change from Primrose Yellow to
Whitehall Nevada Beige was made. Primrose Yellow was discontinued at
AN5/9604 and Whitehall Nevada Beige was introduced at AN5/9605. According
to Terry Horler's "Original Sprite & Midget" book, the first car built in
1959 was chassis number AN5/8927. This would place the introduction of
Whitehall Nevada Beige somewhere around January/February 1959 time frame.
