The last time I had a suspect fuel starvation problem I ran the car under full
throttle until it coughed whereupon I immediately switched off the igntion and
put the car in neutral, coasting to a halt.  Removing the (DCOE) carb cover
revealed the fuel 'bowl' nearly empty.  Diagnosis confirmed.
