No kidding, but I - or rather my car - suffer this every summer in the UK.
must be something similar between your December and our July !

I likened the noise to having small furrey animals taking up residence in
the back of my car, but when I posted that on the list I was amazed that it
was taken literally, and I got several serious suggestions on how to
exterminate rodents, chipmunks squirrels and various other forms of North
American wildlife !!!
