Mystery part

Hello, Spridgeteers!
Can anyone with a parts manual tell me what this part is ---  2A  5551?
This part number is on a tag stuck to the part that just says "Made in UK"
and "British Motor Heritage Approved part".I think it is a part for a later
Sprite, but I'm not sure.  It's a black metal thing that looks like some
kind of tray.
