Hi Drew, The oil will get thinner as it gets hotter, and the dampers 'fade'. However, you are right that you can vary the damping by using a different viscosity oil and racers in the UK often keep what oil they use as a closely guarded secret. As far as I know, high performance dampers use only different valving. Also, I think it is possible to use synthetic oil to get better performance and alleviate damper fade - something like Mobil 1 5-50?. Daniel |
