Lister's,
I had a great time at EURO '98. Put 325 miles on the Bugeye with no
problems. This was one of the best organized events I have ever
attended. I placed second in the Sprite category. I also got second in
the skilled driving event beating quite a few porsches much to their
dissapointment. There was a nice unrestored 1927 Rolls Royce, about 15
big Healeys, a whole bunch of BMW's, Porsches, Volvos etc. A pretty good
showing of Jags, MG's, Land Rover's and Triumphs.
Met Sam & Cyndi Marble (Georgia) with their 1975 Jensen-Healey and a
perfectly restored yellow 1966 Sprite (1st Place Sprite). Connie Carros
also from Georgia with a nice 1958 Bugeye. Robert Anderson (Spartanburg
SC) with a 1959 Bugeye that was very original looking.
Also ran into Bruce Woodson and Carol Groom who drove their 1962 MGA
about 400 miles down from Virginia(Central VA MG club). One person from
the spridget list whose name I forget (sorry). I did not get to drive
the MGF but I did get to sit in it (not that much more room than a
Bugeye). In all a great show that I will attend again next year.
Regards,
Peter Samaroo.
1959 Bugeye.
