In regard to the brake fluid question and conflict, since the ratings
address performance under temperature and/or pressure, I can
understand that in the UK, DOT3 fluid would work. Until resent past
all British cars had pure rubber seals. It would make no sense to sell
a product that would destroy every seal on every car sold in a
country. Sooooo, obviously we are dealing with two different products.
Oh, by the way most brake seals now sold in the U.S. are not rubber. I
have been told that it is now illegal to import and sell these types
of seals. (This is not to say there are no seals left in someone's old
inventory waiting to be sold or used) This ruling I am told came
about in the late seventies or early eighties. I am not sure but all
the seals I get now seem to be non-rubber types. I still use silicone
as a rule. I know, I know someone thinks I'm wrong. This is nothing
new as I have been dealing with these cars four close to 30 yrs. I
have heard most arguments. What I do seems to work for me. There is
more than one way to skin an aardvark. If you have other definitive
information, please post it.
