Hello all:

Having solved the brass nut question by using stainless nuts as supplied by
our local LBC shop I now move onto fitting carbs and shiny new LCB headers.

Little problem. The new headers extend out a little farther than the old
ones and hence the heat shield will not seal properly to the intake
manifold.

Little question. Can I cut down the heat shield to eliminate the
interference. I have to keep it in some fashion because of the throttle
cable attachment point. On my '65 years ago I used 45 DCOE and I don't
recall having the shield there at all.

Does anybody have any experience in this? I could also bend it I suppose
as it is the front and rear header tubes that are offending me.
