Thanks to all for the friendly comments about this.
OK I was lucky to escape. One is so vulnerable in these little cars, I think
in a collision with a bicycle I would come off worst !!
OTOH I do believe that I am far more alert when driving this car, (almost
always with the top down).  Had I been in a modern heavy saloon I probably
wouldn't even have been aware of the truck behind me until he struck !
