>From what I remember the cover attached to the backplate is just a dust
shield/oil diverter in case the pump springs a leak so no oil gets on
the clutch. No oil should get past the oil pump housing, unless you beat
the cam sprocket on and bend the oil pump backing plate or the housing
bolts are loose etc.
