Was a nice show. Seemed like more cars than the last time I went.
Spridget turnout was good, but not as many modified cars or 'average' cars
as last time. I got there around 2:00 so some had left though.
Guess my biggest disappointment was that the Bugeyes, square-bodied Sprites
and Midgets were spread out in three separate areas. I agree they should be
'judged' separately, but would rather see them 'displayed' together.
The (bunch) of Bugeyes were at the top of a hill next to a long line of
Cobra replicas. The (two) square-body Sprites were at the bottom of that
hill next to some Jaguars. At least all the Sprites could -see- each other.
The Midgets were on the other side of a little building out of sight. But,
they had a -hive- of MG-Bee's for company! :-) ;-) Probably more B's than
anything else at the show. (How come there're never any English Fords?)
Managed to talk to Steve & Frieda Byers (Hi!) next to their '73, which
looks like it hasn't been out of the showroom for more than six months;
even though I know it's driven regularly!
Saw a sweet, dark red Bugeye with Carol Coulter's name on it, but didn't
find her next to it. (I think she's on this list.) Since I've never met
her I didn't recognize her wandering around.
I know Robert Weeks was there as a spectator but I missed him; also
Peter Samaroo.
Did not recognize any other names from the list; but like I said, I got
there fairly late.
Sweetie and I left again about 4:00. The weather had been beautiful and
so had the cars. We're gonna hafta put Amy's(?) 'Spridgeteer' poster on
t-shirts or something so we can recognize each other wandering around. :-)
