I bought my new baby "almost" sight-unseen and got my money's worth and
more. I bought it from a lister, and only saw one picture of it on the
guys website. Another lister, thinking of buying it, looked it over and
test drove it, and reported it to be honestly represented. I bought it,
had it shipped up to New York State from Tennessee, and haven't
regretted it for a second. I agree you have to be careful buying long
distance, but there are some honest people out there. You just have to
find them - and have a lister look over the car for you, if possible.
BTW, I was ripped off when I bought my '74 from someone three miles away
from me, back when I knew absolutely nothing about these cars. I paid
$2500 for a car that I now know was worth barely $1500 in the condition
it was in. Lesson: It doesn't have to be sight-unseen, long-distance,
to be misrepresented......
