Hi Dan-- regarding the wiring hanging into your knees, you might want to tie-
wrap them up out of the way, but the permanent fix is to get replica underdash
covers sold through all the popular catalogues (~$45 ea at Moss, Vicky Brit,
etc.).  Your car was originally equipped with fiberboard versions which warp,
tear, and otherwise dissappear, usually after the first underdash repair or
modification!  The replicas are plastic.
