  I read once that someone had come up with a version of a 'Townend Ring'
for a Lotus 7 way back when, and it supposedly worked quite well.  It
attached to the windshielf frame.  Never went into production though.
Dunno why...  Ugly maybe?  Not macho enough?  Did not see a picture.
