Okay, hat's in the ring...

Love 'em both. For me the Weber's a "better" carb, never had much
problem setting 'em up (mostly by luck). It's returned a little grunt
to some anemic post-Nader MGB's I've inherited. Someone just gave me one
new in box - it'll be a tough choice as to whether to put it on the
Bugeye (I'll probably do it after I bring myself to put a 1275 in it,
and keep the SU's with the 948 in a display case in the garage!).

The SU is a mechanical marvel - so stupid it's smart. Constant velocity
- altitude adjustment by accident. Classic to look at, fun to tweak, and
the jet tool looks cool as my keychain.

However, nothing, and I mean nothing EVER took my breath away (and as
you've read, that's a lot of breath) like the sound I heard outside my
bedroom window when I was 15 years old. It was a friend's father
(neighborhood rich kid) in his Ferrari 365GTB. It sounded like a
phonebook being ripped in half six or seven times a second. 6 Weber
carbs with velocity stacks shining - unparalleled visual impact.
Unreal, unforgettable.

So both work for me in different ways.

On the fence as usual,
Ron
