If it still runs, the timing chain is probably OK. You could start the engine with the valve cover off and listen; maybe that will help locate it. But most likely you need to pull the oil pan. Get a couple of cans of Gunk Engine-Brite and a power washer and clean your engines "nether regions" and the front cross-member. It will make the job much less unpleasant.
