I run DOT5 in my '77 Midget, and I noticed the same thing. I assumed it
was normal.

While I was upgrading my brake system with the new stainless hoses and
refilling the master cylinder I noticed a peculiar thing about the fluif
-
I use Silicon fluif and when I started to pour the new fluid in to
replace
the old and bleed the brakes I noticed that the old fluid was much
lighter
in color, almost clear, not the purple of the new fluid, <snip>

At any rate, has anybody
else using Silicon fluif noticed any change in color?? Made me panic for
just a minute!
