In a word, "Carefully"! Those things can be a real bear to install. And if
you have some of the reproduction rubber parts, they can be even worse. The
problem is that very often there is not enough of that rubber to go over the
lens and hold it in place. If you can get one of those curved dental picks,
you can hold the lens against the socket while you gently and very carefully
pull the rubber over the lens with the pick.

A small flat screwdriver will also work but you have to be very careful not
to scratch the paint.

Many cuss words have been emitted while trying to install those things.

Hi,

Does anyone have any tips on how to replace the chrome flasher lamp trim on
a Mk II Spitfire? I replaced the rubber boots because they were perished and
managed to get the amber lens back in place however getting the chrome trim
in under the rim of the rubber boot is proving to be nearly impossible.

Cheers,

Barry
