spitfire tach

I am replacing the distributor in my 73 spit, and delco no  longer makes this 
model distributor with the tach drive on it so I intend  to put in either a 
pertonix or distributor from a 75-80 1500.  To do this I  need to switch to an 
electronic tach.
Can anyone tell me how to change the tach over?
