My 4.5" Mk III wheels look exactly like my 3.5" Mk I wheels. That is
why I
like them. I can use my original style center hub caps and the car
looks
relatively original. So would this wheel be similar to the later 4.5"
wheels and fit or would it be more like the 3.5" wheel and not fit?
I just looked at some pictures of early model GT6s with wheels similar
to
mine. http://www.triumphspitfire.com/images/cars/EdwinTiben.jpg
Perhaps my
Mk III 4.5" wheels are the same as these? (That is what mine look
like.)

If your 3.5" wheels have the "narrow" slots, then I believe you're ok.
Compare the picture you note above to
<http://www.triumphspitfire.com/images/cars/RWidner.jpg>, which shows
wheels with the wider slots. It is some (all? there are two different
styles of wide-slot wheels, believe it or not!) of these that will NOT
fit the larger caliper and rotor of the GT6.

*Mrs Irrelevant: Oh, is it a jet?
*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
