There's nothing to indicate this on the packaging, the bearings themselves
have "COUNTY" stamped into the back. I've no doubt you're correct, but
there's no way of confirming this from studying the product. What is the
perceived wisdom on the quality (or otherwise) of King bearings?

Yes, they're a UK based operation. I know they re-package products by
TVS-Girling, Intermotor, Lucas and doubtless many others.

Nasty! I was aware of problems with rocker shafts from some sources being
too soft, this is a new one to me.
