All,

Thanks for all of the information.  I managed to find a throttle plate that
was not worn and center it perfectly... and now it idles nicely, well below
1000RPM.  It's too late in this neighborhood to fire it back up and set the
mixture tonight, but it will be on the road by the weekend.

I appreciate the many replies and advice.  It worked!
