Even as a web page, it's certainly worth doing. I
wonder, though, if the space available in a paper
magazine might not limit the number of steps too much
and simply result in you getting a ton of email asking
for more help.
If you really break it down to many small steps and
take several pictures per step, it might make a
profitable CD (or DVD if you have a motion camera).
If certain noises are diagnostic, you could add sound
clips. And when magazine readers ask for extra help,
sell 'em the disk!
