Spitfire steering column joint bushes

Has anyone found an acceptable "local" (i.e., quality hardware store) 
alternative to the p/n 108977 bushes for the steering column joint? If not, 
I've no problem (well, I hope I'll have no problems) ordering them from a 
Triumph spares vendor.


Having a ball right now helping a fellow local club member to resurrect a 
one-owner 1964 Spitfire 4, still in about 98% original condition! (Yes, Joe C., 
it's listed on your database!)
