Hello,

Your diff blew up after such a short, gentle drive?  It must already have
been in an advanced state of disintegration.  If it
were not for the exhaust noise, you would probably have heard
some ugly noises coming from it.

Before driving again, you should carefully inspect the wheel bearings (and
definitely grease the rear ones) to avoid any more dramatic surprises.
Also make sure the tranny oil is OK.
