Our Spitfire is on the road and shows some hope of staying there, but now a
whole new range of on-the-road type problems are showing up. In one of the
final steps to hitting the road, we installed a 37 amp GM alternator in place
of
the stone-dead Lucas. Now it seems that we have wiring problems, (go figure).
The top fuse blew yesterday (during State Inspection, no less), killing the
gauges and such. I pulled it and discovered it was a 35 amp. Is this the
correct
amperage for that circuit? The melted plastic around the fuseholder makes me
suspicious that 35 amps is too much. I tried a 15 amp and that blew as soon as
the car was started. Obviously we have a short as well, but first I need to
know what fuse we need.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
